Masking Liquid and Mediums for Watercolors

A medium is used to modify one or more characteristics of the paint and therefore allows the adaptation of the paint for a specific application.

Mediums influence consistency, gloss, smoothness, drying time, and transparency.​

Masking liquids protect the background color. It is easily removable by rubbing it with one's finger.
