Acrylic is a paint is made of 100% acrylate (a dispersion of synthetic material) that dries quickly. A watercolor effect can be achieved by applying the acrylic in very thin layers or diluting it with water. However, mainly used in an unctuous way, the result really looks like an oil painting. Many artists prefer acrylic because it has a drying time considerably shorter than oil and is almost odorless.
